American Idol judge, or should we say former judge, Randy Jackson, just wrapped up producing the latest effort from Brooklyn soul/rock/dirty funk outfit Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds.  The EP, Fight, has no release date as of yet, but expect the band to debut the songs over their busy summer schedule.

According to the band’s Facebook page:

“The EP recording process is a wrap! It’s an honor for us to have the legendary Randy Jackson producing our next EP. He’s been in rehearsals with us and behind the console the whole time. We can’t say enough about how much we’ve learned from him and what an inspiration he is to all of us (if you click on the link on his name you can read his Wikipedia page – you know him from American Idol, but did you know he played bass with everyone from Journey to Aretha Franklin, Mick Jagger to Herbie Hancock?). We’re listening to the rough rough mixes now and we’re really excited to get these tracks out there. Keep you posted.”

Just in case you don’t know how much Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds rock, here is “The Long Way” which the band debuted on BalconyTV in March (which will also appear on Fight):
