Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, is one of the most beloved and beautiful venues in the country. Each summer, fans from around the world flock to the iconic outdoor venue to see some of their favorite acts play the natural amphitheater, with Red Rocks playing host to a diverse collection of artists from across the musical spectrum. Marking a special moment in the venue’s history, in December, to close out the year and ring in 2018, Red Rocks will be hosting its first-ever New Year’s Eve celebration, dubbed New Year’s Eve On The Rocks. The event, in collaboration with Cervantes’, Feyline, and KS107.5, has tapped MigosPost MaloneYoung Thug, Lil Yachty, and more to help celebrate the new year.

The event is somewhat of a risk given its winter timing, though not as much as those unfamiliar with Colorado’s weather might think. Red Rocks season peaks during the summer, though it regularly hosts shows from early spring through to late fall, with its annual Winter on the Rocks event consistently taking place in January each year. Given Denver’s high altitude, the weather at the venue is fairly fickle, with all traces of snowstorms regularly erased by high temperatures and sunny skies the next day. That said, Red Rocks has canceled shows in the past due to snow (such as Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s initially scheduled headlining Red Rocks debut in April of this year, which was later moved to the end of August), though these cancellations are generally few and far between.
