The only way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of perennial jam rag Relix is with a historic superjam, and the guest list for the celebratory Taper’s Choice show at Brooklyn Bowl certainly delivers. On January 15th, the indie-jam band comprised of Dave Harrington (DARKSIDE), Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Chris Tomson(Vampire Weekend), and Zach Tenorio-Miller (Arc Iris) will welcome members of Phish, the Grateful DeadJoe Russo’s Almost Dead, and more.

Relix began as a fanzine for Grateful Dead tapers, so it’s only fitting that Tom Constanten, the Dead’s keyboardist from 1968 to 1970, should join in the celebration. Over the years, Relix grew to encompass the burgeoning jam band movement including Phish, whose bassist Mike Gordon is among the special guests. Relix publisher Peter Shapiro‘s Brooklyn Bowl also served as an early proving ground for Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton will come to pay their respects along with Eggy guitarist Jake Brownstein, The Greyboy Allstars keyboardist Robert Walter, Guster frontman Ryan Miller, Dr. Dog drummer Eric Slick, harpist Mikaela Davis, bassist Karina Rykman, woodwind master Stuart Bogie, trumpeter Jordan McLean, and more. Ahead of the show, Conrad Doucette and The National’s Scott Devendorff will spin a DJead Night, with DJ Logic set to provide after-show entertainment.

Tickets for the Relix 50th anniversary show featuring Taper’s Choice and a bevy of special guests are on sale here. See below for the full lineup.
