Resonance Music & Arts Festival has postponed this year’s event to 2021. The festival, originally set to take place on September 17th—20th at Cooper’s Lake in Slippery Rock, PA, has not announced a rescheduled date.

Festival organizers did, however, include in the postponement announcement and explanation of how they plan to make things up to ticketholders. Earlier this year, the festival offered a Buy One Get One free promotion for a limited time. Not only will both of those tickets be valid for next year, but any ticketholder who missed out on that sale and decides he/she wants to hold onto said ticket for 2021 will receive a free ticket as a thank you for their commitment.

A lengthy post on the festival’s page expressed regret and sorrow on behalf of organizers in regards to the decision. The festival’s fate was already put in jeopardy earlier this month when Pennsylvania announced the indefinite closure of campgrounds statewide. Organizers acknowledged this development in a Facebook post shortly after the announcement, but apparently were not able to work around the hurdle.

The exact wording on the BOGO deal is as follows,

All purchased tickets WILL be honored on the rescheduled date. If you purchased during our popular Buy One Get One (BOGO) sale, both your paid ticket and your free ticket WILL be honored on the rescheduled date. In addition, all other ticket holders who purchased tickets outside of the sale dates will now automatically receive a free BOGO ticket if they choose to keep their ticket to the rescheduled date.

For those looking to request refunds, there will be an application to do so available on Sunday, May 17th. Note: requesting a refund automatically disqualifies any ticketholder from receiving an additional BOGO ticket for 2021. Read the entire announcement below.

After months of research and reflection on countless considerations proposed by local government, health officials, the Cooper’s Lake family, and our supporters, we have chosen to postpone Resonance at this time. This has undoubtedly been the hardest decision we’ve had to make while contemplating the financial hardships that this may present the future of our festival. However, we understand that our patrons are not strangers to the added struggles that this pandemic has introduced into all of our lives.

We understand that even with these incentives, some folks have been hurting more than others and require immediate help. For those in need, we will offer the option to apply for a refund. We are currently creating an application for refunds which will be available this Sunday, May 17th. NOTE: Ticketing fees are non-refundable and request for refund relinquishes any possibility of using a BOGO ticket for the rescheduled date.
