The Revivalists closed out 2018 with their annual New Year’s Eve show on Monday, December 31st at Mardi Gras World in their hometown of New Orleans, LA. The local octet was joined by Crescent City special guests Tank and The Bangas, who gained national attention back in 2017 when they won NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest.

The one-night-only event, “The Other Side Of Paradise”, culminated a successful year for The Revivalists, who released their fourth studio album, Take Good Care, back in November. The band is certainly known for their contagious live energy, and they kept the energy going straight into the New Year.

After playing through a set of fan-favorite songs, old and new, the band rang in 2019 with their newest anthem, “Celebration”.In true Mardi Gras fashion, a performer joined the stage to capture the audience with a fanned out, multi-color wingsuit of sorts. Aerialists and dancers also filled the room, including the return of last year’s disco ball man, creating a marvelous spectacle for all those involved.

Charging into 2019 after the “Celebration”, the band worked through a debut cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You”, which was followed by the night’s theme, “Otherside of Paradise”. From there, they debuted a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Have A Cigar”, much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase. The evening closed out with energetically-charged performances of “Criminal” and “Wish I Knew You”.
