As we continue to count down to the 2022 edition of The Peach Music Festival, and Live For Live Music are bringing you The Road to Peach Fest, a daily series of video premieres from past years of the festival to help prime the engines for this summer’s event. Today, we’re taking it back to 2019 for a snippet from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong‘s two-set performance on the opening day of that year’s Peach featuring special guest Billy Strings.

The Baltimore-native quartet has played all over Montage Mountain in years past, from the side Grove Stage to headlining and late-night sets on the main Peach Stage. In 2019, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong helped open the festivities with a pair of headlining sets sandwiched around a 90-minute performance by The String Cheese Incident. Billy Strings, who had delivered a show of his own on the Peach Stage before the first Pigeons set, stuck around to join the band on guitar for a red-hot rendition of “Burning Up My Time” that frontman Greg Ormont aptly ad-libbed as “Burning Up My Strings”.
