Robert Glasper will revisit the final shows of his month-long residency at Blue Note NYC in October 2018 when he played with his R+R=Now collective on a forthcoming live album, R+R=NOW Live, due out February 12th on Blue Note Records.

The group comprised of Terrace Martin (synthesizer/vocoder/alto saxophone), Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah (trumpet), Derrick Hodge (bass), Taylor McFerrin (synthesizer), and Justin Tyson (drums) played with Glasper for the Grammy-nominated pianist’s final 8 of 48 total performances (in just 24 nights) as part of the 2018 residency at the small Greenwich Village jazz club. The seven-track album will revisit the group’s performances of R+R=Now originals including “Respond”, “Been On My Mind”, “Change Of Tone”, and “Resting Warrior”, and “Needed You Still” featuring a sit-in from Omari Hardwick, along with their jazz-inspired cover of Kendrick Lamar‘s “How Much A Dollar Cost”.

“Every night when I walk into Blue Note, when I walk in the club, I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Glasper told Live For Live Music during a March 2020 interview. “I check my phone and it’s like, ‘Yo, me and so and so are falling through,’ you know what I mean? So I’ve had so many people do that.”
