Robert Plant will release a two-CD anthology, entitled DIGGING DEEP, chronicling his four decades-long solo career. The 30-track collection will also contain three previously-unreleased songs and will arrive on October 2nd via Plant’s own Es Paranza record label.
In addition to Monday’s announcement of the DIGGING DEEP anthology, Plant has also premiered the third season of his popular podcast, Digging Deep with Robert Plant. The season premiere of Plant’s podcast finds the former Led Zeppelin frontman examining his recording of “Morning Dew” from 2002’s Dreamland.
The DIGGING DEEP anthology will feature tracks from all eight of Plant’s solo records, beginning with 1982’s Pictures at Eleven and running all the way to 2017’s Carry Fire. The collection will also feature three previously-unheard tracks, including Toussaint McCall‘s “Nothing Takes the Place of You”, “Charlie Patton Highway (Turn It Up – Part 1)”, and a take on Charley Feathers‘ rockabilly classic “Too Much Alike”, featuring Patty Griffin.
Throughout DIGGING DEEP, Plant is joined by an expansive lineup of legendary musicians, including Jimmy Page, Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin, Phil Collins, Nigel Kennedy, Richard Thompson, and his backing groups, Strange Sensation/ The Sensational Space Shifters.
