It’s that time of year again. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has confirmed it is set to announce its class of 2017 nominees for induction into the Hall this week. The list of nominees will include newly eligible acts such as Pearl Jam, Aphex Twin, Tupac Shakur, and Alanis Morissette, among others, and other eligible acts like Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, Tom Petty (solo), Soundgarden, Chic, The Meters, De La Soul, Sting (solo), Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, and many more.

The announcement is expected to come this Tuesday, October 18th at 8am. As is standard operating procedure, a select group of artists, music historians, journalists, critics, and industry members will place their votes on the ballots, which will determine the top five vote-getters, who will then be selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
