Rodrigo y Gabriela will release a three-track Jazz EP of recordings covering notable compositions from Kamasi Washington, Snarky Puppy, and Astor Piazzolla.
The versatile flamenco nuevo duo comprised of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero will release the album on CD, vinyl, and digital formats on Friday, May 14th. The Jazz EP will also be available to purchase on limited colored vinyl (3,000 copies) to be released later this year as well.
The three recordings on the Jazz EP will include their covers of Kamasi Washington’s “Street Fighter Mas”, Snarky Puppy’s “Lingus”, and Astor Piazzolla’s “Oblivion”, with the latter featuring a guest performance from Spanish flamenco composer and guitarist Vicente Amigo.
To go with the album’s announcement on Thursday, Rodrigo y Gabriela also shared a new video highlighting their cover of Kamasi Washington’s 2018 piece, “Street Fighter Mas”. Watch the video below.

The Jazz EP will follow Rodrigo y Gabriela’s 2020 Mettal EP which paid homage to metal artists with covers of songs made famous by Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer, and their Grammy-winning 2019 full-length album Mettavolution.
