Instrumental Mexican folk duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela have announced a new batch of tour dates throughout North America scheduled for this spring. The upcoming run of headlining shows and festival appearances will help the two musicians promote their forthcoming studio album, Mettavolution, which is scheduled to arrive on April 26th via ATO Records.
The duo’s 2019 tour campaign will begin with their previously-announced run of European performances throughout the month of April. The leg of North American shows will follow beginning on May 4th with a gig at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX. The spring-into-summer run will continue with scheduled stops at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, MA (5/15); the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY (5/18); The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL (5/24); the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA (6/1); Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN (6/2); Spring Pavilion in Charlottesville, VA (6/5); and wrapping at Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, WI (7/9), just to name a few. The two are also set to appear at the LaureLive Festival in Cleveland, OH on June 8th, followed by a performance at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal in Montreal, QC a month later on July 3rd.

The forthcoming release of Mettavolution later this year acts as the band’s first studio release since 9 Dead Alive arrived in 2014. In 2017 the duo celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their 2006 Rodrigo Y Gabriela LP with a deluxe reissue and celebratory tour. It was during that 2017 tour when the two utilized the opportunity of testing out their new material in front of fans in a live setting. For continued work on Mettavolution, they teamed up with Grammy-winner Dave Sardy (Oasis, LCD Soundsystem) to help produce the project.
