It’s really happening!
Last week, we reported on plans for a new classic rock mega festival, put on by the organizers of Coachella. The event would feature a number of rock and roll superstars, with Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Roger Waters and Paul McCartney.
Today, Daltrey confirmed that the plans are indeed in the works. In an interview with Toronto Sun, Daltrey said, “I think it’s us and Roger Waters on the same day… I mean it’s a fantastic idea for a festival. It’s the greatest remains of our era. I’m glad we made it!”
While details about the show are not yet announced, it’s looking like the rock-a-thon will be held at the Empire Polo Field site in Indio, CA, home of Coachella, from October 7-9.
Neil Young’s longtime manager Elliot Roberts told the LA Times, “It’s so special in so many ways because you won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again. It’s a show I look forward to more than any show in a long time.”
We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
