Sacred steel master Roosevelt Collier has announced a lengthy batch of 2022 tour dates. The tour will take the South Florida native to an array of clubs and festivals across three continents with a variety of different projects.
Collier’s 2022 tour is set to kick off on February 11th with a show supporting Los Lobos in Port Charlotte, FL. From there, “The Doctor” will make his way to San Francisco, CA for a two-night stand at Boom Boom Room (2/18, 2/19).
Next, Roosevelt will join up with Jaimoe and the Big Band of Brothers, the collaborative ensemble touted as a “jazz celebration of the Allman Brothers Band,” for a run of shows stopping in Tarrytown, NY (2/24); Portsmouth, NH (2/25); Sugar Loaf, NY (2/26); Rahway, NJ (2/27); and Glenside, PA (3/2). The 2022 Roosevelt Collier tour will roll on with solo band performances in Jacksonville, FL (3/5); Virginia Key, FL (3/12); Santa Rosa Beach, FL (3/17); Pensacola, FL (3/18); and Mobile, AL (3/19).
On March 25th and 26th, Collier will make his way to New York’s storied Beacon Theatre to take part in the debut performances by a brand new band, Trouble No More, an Allman Brothers-inspired outfit featuring Brandon “Taz” Niederauer (guitar/vocals), Daniel Donato (guitar/vocals), Dylan Niederauer (bass guitar), Jack Ryan (drums), Nikki Glaspie (drums), Lamar Williams Jr. (vocals), and Peter Levin (keys). With this new crew, Roosevelt will help celebrate both the 50th anniversary of Eat A Peach and the 53rd anniversary of the first-ever Allman Brothers jam session. The international run will continue from there with gigs in Switzerland (4/18), Czech Republic (4/19), and London, England (4/30).
Collier will then make his way back to the States and head down to New Orleans on May 4th for a gig at d.b.a. during Jazz Fest. A few days later, he’ll be back in South Florida for a performance at GroundUP Music Festival in Miami Beach (5/8). That date will kick off a run of home state shows for the pedal steel maestro including gigs in Boca Raton (5/11), Jacksonville (5/13), Orlando (5/14), and Gainesville (5/15). Finally a pair of festival engagements—at Martinsville, VA’s Rooster Walk (5/2) and Swanzey, NH’s Northlands Music Festival (6/25) round out the early-2022 tour.
