Steel guitar master Roosevelt Collier is heading out on a spring 2023 U.S. tour ahead of his trip to Africa for a two-night stint at Kriol Jazz Festival Praia in Praia, Cape Verde on April 14th and 15th.
After jump-starting his spring schedule with his Allman Brothers Band tribute act, Trouble No More, for a pair of Brothers and Sisters anniversary shows featuring special guest Chuck Leavell at Boston, MA’s Orphum Theatre (3/24) and New York, NY’s Beacon Theatre (3/25), Roosevelt Collier and his solo outfit—comprised of drummer Aaron “Bucky” Buckingham, organist Tommy Shugart, and bassist Harry Ong—will kick off their Road To Africa with a performance at Lincoln, NE’s Zoo Bar on March 27th.
Collier and company will continue through the southeastern U.S. with shows in Bentonville, AR (3/28), Chattanooga, TN (3/30), and Knoxville, TN (3/31). Following a performance in Savannah, GA as part of Savannah Music Festival (4/1), the tour will head to Greensboro, NC (4/2) and make its way through Roosevelt’s native Florida with shows in Cocoa (4/5), Dunedin (4/6), Sanford (4/7), and Boca Raton (4/9).
After Roosevelt Collier and his band complete their Road To Africa run and dazzle fans in Cape Verde on April 14th and 15th, they’ll head to the tour’s third continent, Europe, for a trio of performances in Germany (4/19 in Berlin, 4/20 and 4/21 in Koln).
