Roosevelt Collier Takes Viewers Down A “Peachtree Tunnel” At Georgia Comes Alive [Watch]

On Saturday, December 26th, 50+ artists and hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world came together for Georgia Comes Alive, a virtual music festival aimed at promoting voter participation in Georgia’s Senate runoff elections on January 5th, 2021, which saw a record-breaking voter turnout.

One of many world-renowned musicians who took part in the festivities was acclaimed pedal steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier who unveiled a new instrumental composition, “Peachtree Tunnel”. Appropriately named after The Peach State, this musical odyssey was a concentrated effort by Collier as he was joined by Bucky on drums and Digo on bass to form a pungent trio.

While Collier doesn’t offer any vocals on the track, he lets his guitar do the talking as together the group enters into a mood indicative of the Southern blues tradition found throughout Georgia. With Collier’s enticing pedal steel guitar work, the song takes on an aura of a scenic drive through the tunnel of peachtrees for which the song is named.
