New Orleans-based genre-bending electronic trio The Russ Liquid Test has released the first track from their upcoming World Gone Crazy EP, “Rise,” a dream-state neo-soul vamp laced with pluming vocals and fluttering flutes. “Rise” is only a taste of what’s to come, showing just a sliver of the rest of the record. The single is a slow rolling, iridescent and nostalgic ballad encouraging the inevitable head nod. The EP will be officially released via All Good Records on November 3rd.

The single release comes just before the trio departs on an extensive thirty-six date US tour with high-profile stops in San Francisco, Atlanta, Grand Rapids and more, as well as their highly-anticipated set at the upcoming Brooklyn Comes Alive festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on September 23-24. The Russ Liquid Test will perform alongside fellow All Good Records acts like SunSquabi and Muzzy Bearr to round out a fantastic slate of electronic artists at the unique homegrown event.

Redefining the possibilities of modern music, The Russ Liquid Test fuses the raw vitality of classic funk and the inventive sound design of electronic production. Songwriter/producer and renowned brass specialist Russell Scott (a.k.a. Russ Liquid) heads up the three-piece. Guitarist Andrew Block and drummer Deven Trusclair round things out, with each providing a distinct musical background deeply rooted in the New Orleans jazz scene. The Russ Liquid Test presents a joyful musical synergy with their exciting live shows, which include recent appearances at Shambhala Music FestivalLightning in a Bottle, Summer Camp, and Electric Forest.
