Saxophonist Dean Mitchell has announced that he is parting ways with The Marcus King Band. Mitchell, one-half of the band’s longtime horn section, announced his departure from the band via a Facebook post on Friday.
As Mitchell explains in the announcement post,
It’s a big decision, but I am leaving the Marcus King Band effective in a few weeks. I’ve put over 4 hard years of work into this band, so this is not easy. I love everyone in the band, and have shared countless insane memories that will always be with me. What’s made this all possible is you; our fans, friends, and family. I hope to see you all out there and share in the joy of great and inspirational music. Looking forward, I am open to new opportunities should they present themselves, and hope to see you on the road of happy destiny.

We wish Dean the best of luck on whatever move comes next! The announcement from Dean Mitchell comes as The Marcus King Band continues to tour in support of King’s debut solo record, El Dorado, which was released earlier this month. For a full list of upcoming Marcus King Band tour dates, head here.
