Scott Sharrard, the lead guitarist and musical director of the Gregg Allman Band, is hosting a full-stacked live show in tribute and celebration to the iconic guitarist Duane Allman and the Muscle Shoals sound, billed as “Where It All Began.”

Along with vocals, guitar, and musical direction from Sharrard himself, this musical homage will showcase a stellar house band featuring Peter Levin, Brett Bass, Rich Pagano, Jay Collins, and Reggie Pittman alongside a slew of special guests including Vernon Reid, Robert Randolph, Duane Betts, Lisa Fischer, Tash Neal, Junior Mack, Leslie Mendelson, and Vaneese Thomas.

The stacked tribute show will take place on November 20th at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl, marking the first in a new series of shows co-conceived by Sharrard, Peter Shapiro, and Danny Melnick which seeks to ” encompass the entire spectrum of American roots music.”

Sharrard chose Duane Allman’s session work at Muscle Shoals, AL’s FAME Studios as the starting point for this tribute endeavor. The iconic studio was where a pre-Allman Brothers Band Duane Allman laid down some of his most iconic guitar parts on records by world-renowned artists like Aretha FranklinWilson PickettBoz ScaggsCowboyHerbie MannKing CurtisDelaney and Bonnie, and many more. Duane would go on to start the Allman Brothers Band and become one of the most iconic figures in rock n’ roll history as both a bandleader and a distinct guitarist.
