Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have announced a three-night run at New York City’s historic Apollo Theatre from Dec. 4th-6th, along with a two-night stint at San Francisco’s The Fillmore on Dec. 30th and 31st. Jones and her spectacular band have been touring heavily the past eight months in support of her most recent album Give the People What They Want. The group will be on tour in Europe from the end of October through the end of November.

Jones has also been slated to sing the National Anthem at tonight’s Monday Night Football game between the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks at Maryland’s FedExField which begins at 8:30pm EST. The whole month of October is part of the NFL’s “Crucial CatchBreast Cancer Awareness program, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, which is focused on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are 40 and older.

Throughout October, NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel, as well as additional on-field and in-stadium branding – all to help raise awareness for this important campaign. Jones survived a battle with pancreatic cancer in 2013, and is also an advocate for annual cancer screenings.

Much of the apparel worn at games by players and coaches, along with special game balls and pink coins will be auctioned off at NFL Auction, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Community Health Advocates implementing Nationwide Grants for Empowerment and Equity (CHANGE) program.
