Shira Elias has shared “Cherry Pie”, the second single from the Turkuaz vocalist’s debut album, GOODS.

The sultry single finds the vocalist venturing out on her own in a soulful discovery of love. “Cherry Pie” joins “NAH” as the second pre-release single from GOODS, available on May 29th via Goods & Services Musick.

The song opens with a flowing guitar riff courtesy of collaborator Sasha Brown before Elias’s lyrics drop in. Normally confined to a specific role inside the Turkuaz dynamic, these two releases have shown Elias’s capacity to fill expansive voids of sound, finally becoming the focal point she is capable of being. While the poppy production by MEGA on “Cherry Pie” may seem foreign to many Turkuaz loyalists, the song still holds strong roots in the sounds that made audiences fall in love with Shira in the first place.

Elias said of the song,

I wanted ‘Cherry Pie’ to sound the way that a ‘new love feeling’ feels; bubbling with excitement, trepidation and ultimately, building into a joyful freedom. It’s based on my personal experience at the beginning of a new relationship when I was still wary of the disappointments and wounds of past loves but ready and open to the new possibility. It’s really the first time I’m revealing the romantic, lovestruck side of myself and ultimately I just want the listener to be able to close their eyes and sway to the lyrics in that chorus—’You’re the sweetest life I’ve known.’ I think that anyone who’s been in love knows what that means.
