Aerosmith, Jack White, David Byrne, Beck, Jimmy Buffet, Lionel Richie, Sheryl Crow and many more are scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz Fest & Heritage Festival, but they won’t be the only stars at this year’s celebration. At least one other group of American icons is heading to the Crescent City later this month: The Simpsons.

NOLA.com reports that the long-running animated comedy series’ titular family will take a detour to New Orleans when the forthcoming episode “Lisa Gets The Blues” airs on Sunday, April 22nd. Fans of the city’s music scene will be in for a treat, as Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews is slated to make a guest appearance during the episode.

A synopsis for “Lisa Gets The Blues” reads:

When the Simpsons’ flight to Gainesville gets re-routed to New Orleans, Lisa is forced to face her failures, and regain her confidence as a jazz musician. Meanwhile, Bart is intrigued by the voodoo in Louisiana, and Homer is intrigued by the drinking.

As you can see, it sounds like most members of The Simpsons clan will have their work cut out for them in the Big Easy. And if Marge gets shortchanged, it’s probably because she was already the subject of The Simpsons’ greatest—well, the show’s only—New Orleans-themed episode, 1992’s “A Streetcar Named Marge”. If that classic from the show’s heyday is any indication, The Simpsons’ won’t pull any punches when it comes to satirizing the birthplace of jazz, a place they once called a “putrid, brackish, maggoty, foul” city akin to Sodom and Gomorrah.
