Over the past year, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds have been on hiatus following the birth of frontwoman Arleigh Kincheloe’s baby. In November of last year, the band announced that it’d be returning to the road, much to the delight of fans nationwide eager to see them back on stage. On April 26th and 27th, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds will make their triumphant return to New York City for a two-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl.

In celebration of this exciting doubleheader, the band has cooked up something special for their first show of the run on Thursday, April 26th. Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, in addition to inviting a number of special guests out for the performance, have decided to cover a classic Fillmore live album in its entirety. Rather than choosing themselves, the band has opened up the question to fans, inviting them to vote amongst six options for the band to cover.

The options are:

  • Aretha Franklin: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1971)
  • Derek And The Dominos: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1970)
  • Jefferson Airplane: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1968)
  • Neil Young and Crazy Horse: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1970)
  • Ten Years After: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1970)
  • The Byrds: Live At The Fillmore (recorded in 1969)

You can vote for your choice of who’d you like to see Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds cover at Brooklyn Bowl later in the month below. For tickets for either of the band’s upcoming New York City shows, you can head here.

Stay tuned for updates from the group, as they’ve also announced that they have a brand-new album coming out this fall. Sister Sparrow’s return from hiatus starts tomorrow night, with the group hitting a three-night run across Allston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; and Germantown, MD from April 5th through 7th.
