The lineup for the 2020 incarnation of Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival was unveiled on Monday and features headliners Metallica, Slipknot, and Deftones. Set to take place May 15th-17th in 2020, this will mark the second year of the hard rock festival held at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio as a replacement for the former Rock on the Range event which was held at the same venue for many years.
Metallica will headline both Friday and Sunday nights of the festival, playing unique sets each night, with Slipknot headlining Saturday night. In addition to those headliners, other bands set to play the festival include Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescense, Staind, Sublime with Rome, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Cyprus Hill, Pennywise, and many more.
The festival will also feature performances from Royal Blood, The Pretty Reckless, Alter Bridge, Anthrax, Flatbush Zombies, Pop Evil, Hellyeah, Ghostmane, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament, Dance Gavin Dance, Ice Nine Kills, Sleeping With Sirens, The Darkness and more.
In addition to music, the festival will also feature live art and exhibitions from a litany of artists and creators, as well as a sponsored collaboration with Metallica’s Blackened American Whiskey and Enter Night Pilsner.
Metallica’s scheduled performance at 2020 Sonic Temple will be one of five major festival headlining appearances which the thrash metal band will take on next year, with the others to include Marston, NC’s Epicenter (May 1st-3rd), Daytona Beach, FL’s Welcome To Rockville (May 8th-10th); Louisville, KY’s Louder Than Life (September 18th-20th); and Sacramento, CA’s Aftershock (October 9th-11th).
