Almost 13 years ago in August 2007, a then-five piece Sonic Youth delivered a five-song performance on Nigel Godrich‘s From the Basement performance web series in support of their new studio album, 2006’s Rather Ripped. The multi-camera, pro-shot performance is now available for fans to stream in full on YouTube, making for the perfect at-home entertainment selection while traditional concerts remain on hiatus.

Sonic Youth’s performance that day included live renditions of songs from the new album including “Incinerate”, “Jams Run Free”, and “Pink Steam”, along with a pair of tunes from 1988’s Daydream Nation in “Hey Joni” and “The Sprawl”.

Godrich’s From The Basement concerts have begun to find their way onto YouTube over the past few weeks, starting with the arrival of a 2008 Fleet Foxes performance earlier this month.
