GZA To Team Up With The Soul Rebels For Late-Night Show During New Orleans Jazz Fest

[UPDATE 4/6/23]: Due to unforeseen circumstances affecting GZA’s availability, The Soul Rebels’ 4/28 evening show at Toulouse Theatre has been canceled. Ticket-holders will be contacted directly via email regarding refunds.

The Soul Rebels will link up with legendary rapper GZA of Wu-Tang Clan at New Orleans, LA’s Toulouse Theatre on Friday, April 28th for a brass-backed blast of hip-hop havoc. The 9:00 p.m. performance will come just hours after The Soul Rebels perform with the full Wu-Tang Clan at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Tickets are on sale now.

Known for synthesizing elements of hip-hop, funk, and pop music with their NOLA jazz roots, The Soul Rebels have famously performed shows backing a range of lauded rappers including DMX, Talib Kweli, Rakim, Slick Rick, Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan), Styles P (The Lox), Black Thought (The Roots), and many more.

While Wu-Tang Clan + The Soul Rebels’ performance on the Jazz Fest fairgrounds will mark the debut of that particular combo, Wu-Tang rapper GZA has served up various performances with the eight-piece brass ensemble over the years. In addition to his iconic work with Wu-Tang, the GZA has recorded a number of celebrated solo LPs. His seminal debut LP, 1995’s Liquid Swords, is widely considered to be among the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, earning GZA acclaim for his complex lyricism and weighty, cinematic Samurai imagery.
