The Soul Rebels are a beloved New Orleans brass band. The group is no stranger to major collaborations, with an enviable list of past collaborators spanning from Metallica, Green Day, and Marilyn Manson to Umphrey’s McGee, John Medeski, and Lettuce to Nas, Slick Rick, Rakim, and countless others. In July, the eight-piece brass band plans to hit New York City, this time joined by hip-hop icons Talib Kweli and GZA.

The Soul Rebels have collaborated with both iconic rappers in the past. In 2016, the band collaborated with both rappers at Electric Forest, and as recently as March, GZA and Talib Kweli appeared during a Soul Rebels show at Washington DC’s 9:30 Club. The band has also played with GZA and Talib (in addition to numerous other rappers) separately on numerous occasions. Most notably, GZA brought the eight-piece krewe with him for his performance at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert last month.

For the upcoming performances, The Soul Rebels will first perform at Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World Festival in Flushing Meadows Corona Park’s Queens Theatre on July 21st—a festival that will also see a headlining performance by Queens-bred rapper, Action Bronson. However, the night will really take off after the festival performance, with The Soul Rebels slated for a special collaborative late-night show starting at 12:30 a.m. with Talib Kweli, GZA, and jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold. You can snag tickets to the all-star late-night performance here.
