The Soul Rebels Throw A Summer Party In Video For "Good Time" Feat. Big Freedia, Denisia, Passport P [Watch]

New Orleans brass ensemble The Soul Rebels are known at times for their surprise live collaborations and pop-up performances. This time, they’ve given the music world another fun collaboration in teaming up with the one and only Big Freedia in the music video for their latest single, “Good Time”.

The Soul Rebels’ new track, which arrived back on August 2nd also features contributions from Denisia and Passport P, acts as the lead single from the band’s forthcoming studio album, Poetry In Motion, due out October 25th via their own Rebelution Music Group. While the recording itself certainly lives up to its title as a feel-good, dance-inspiring summer single, the new video also gives fans some inspiration on how to throw a backyard party, Big Freedia style.

Waterslides, Bar-B-Ques, dominoes, and plenty of music fills the new video to provide plenty of visual stimulation to go along with the uplifting music. All three of the song’s guest collaborators have significant cameos throughout the video, especially Big Freedia, who trades her screentime between the backyard bar-b-que and being on a boat–because why the not, the song is called “Good Time” after all.

“Our new album reflects The Soul Rebels sound and style, and challenges and expands upon the perception of a New Orleans brass band,” Soul Relebs trumpet player Julian Gosin added with the band’s latest single. “We are breaking the stylistic and artistic boundaries of what it means to be a brass group from New Orleans.”

The new album will also reportedly feature contributions from Robert Glasper, Branford Marsalis, Matisyahu, PJ Morton, and Trombone Shorty.

The Soul Rebels will look to close summer with a trio of August performances in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan in the coming weeks. Head to the band’s website for tickets and tour info.
