Sound on Sound Festival, a new event set to take place in Bridgeport, CT in September 2022, will feature a headlining performance by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.
[UPDATE 2/15/22]: Sound on Sound Festival has announced its full artist lineup. The Lumineers and Stevie Nicks will join Matthews and Reynolds as festival headliners. Other performers set to appear include Brandi Carlile, The National, Father John Misty, Black Pumas, Ziggy Marley, Gary Clark Jr., The Head and the Heart, Caamp, Zach Bryan, Band of Horses, Jenny Lewis, Spin Doctors, Noah Kahan, Trampled by Turtles, Jade Bird, The Main Squeeze, Geese, Trousdale, The Cameroons, Drew Angus, and more. The nearly two dozen artists will perform at two stages with no overlapping sets.
The new festival, presented by Founders Entertainment (Governor’s Ball), Live Nation, and Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater developer Howard Saffan, is set to take place at Bridgeport’s Seaside Park on September 24th and 25th. While Sound on Sound is new, concert-goers will likely remember the park as the former home of the long-running jam band festival, Gathering of the Vibes, which hosted its last event in 2015.
While the full lineup for the inaugural Sound on Sound Festival has yet to be announced, a representative from Founders Entertainment has confirmed to the CT Post that the acoustic duo of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will serve as one of the event’s two Sunday, September 25th headliners.
Back in early December of 2021, festival organizers told the CT Post that they had secured 75% of the lineup including two headlining acts for each of the two days. Organizers are also planning a second, separate festival at Seaside Park. That as yet unnamed second festival is due to launch in 2023. For more information on the planned events, head here.
