Southern Avenue has got our attention! The Memphis quintet packs a big punch of soul, blues, and gospel to their home city, expanding from tradition with a youthful spirit and dynamic energy of their own. The band recently won two Blues Blast awards, New Artist Debut Album and Sean Costello Rising Star Award. In celebration of their recent success, the band announced a Fall Tour and shared “Freedom,” a track included as a digital bonus on their self-titled debut LP. Signed to the famed Stax Records, a division of Concord Music Group, Southern Avenue’s recently released self-titled debut reached #1 on the iTunes Blues chart, #6 on the Billboard Blues chart and is consistently a Top 40 album on Americana radio stations from coast to coast.

Southern Avenue’s Fall Tour will begin on September 1 in Charleston, West Virginia and explore the country throughout the rest of the year. The band will make festival appearances at Peoria Blues & Heritage Festival in Peoria, IL, Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas, NV, International Gumbo Fest in Jackson, MS, Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, IL, the inaugural Mempho Music Festival in Memphis, TN, Suwanee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL, and more. Southern Avenue will also perform in support of JJ Grey & Mofro at The Steeple in Mobile, Alabama and The Texas Club in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Then, they will tour in support of Spafford for dates in Nashville, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lawrence, and Omaha. From there, Southern Avenue will play two shows with Walker in Athens and Charleston, before staggering out their own headlining shows the rest of the month.
