Arizona jam quartet Spafford has shared their mammoth, 47-minute recording of “Chapel Jam — An Odyssey In Musical Exploration”.

The video containing audio of the marathon jam posted onto the band’s Facebook page on Thursday night was recorded back in January 2017 when Spafford was touring the east coast for the first time, acting as support on a run of shows for Umphrey’s McGee. When a gig in Rochester, NY was unexpectedly canceled, the band went back to their mission-turned-AirBnB in Consensus, NY where they were staying for the night and, unsure of what to do, simply plugged in and started jamming.

Luckily, bassist Jordan Fairless remembered to hit record before the group launched into a series groove.

Drummer Nick Tkachyk–who rejoined the group back in May after a two-year hiatus where he was replaced by Cameron LaForest–took the sanctified position on the alter, with the rest of the band taking their places in the congregation below. While the band did not capture any video of the event, the audio for “Chapel Jam” is set to video of a day in the life of the band.
