Annie Clark a.k.a. St. Vincent was the featured musical guest on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, where the rock guitarist and singer treated audiences to the live debuts of two new originals songs set to appear on her forthcoming Daddy’s Home album due out next month.

For the April 3rd episode, hosted by actor Daniel Kaluuya, St. Vincent’s first of two performances of the night in front of a masked audience was that of the previously-shared “Pay Your Way In Pain”. The performance saw Clark take center stage without her trademark guitar, opting for a singing-only role while backed by a full band and a trio of supporting vocalists for the darker, more seductive tune. Clark returned to the stage later on in the episode for a follow-up performance of “The Melting of the Sun”. This time around Clark did have her guitar with her, in addition to a big fur coat and a comfy chair where she remained seated throughout the entire performance. The leisurely rendition of the new song again included her full band and backing singers as Clark lounged her way from start to finish.
