The music of Steely Dan will fill the late-night air in New Orleans when a thirteen-person band featuring members of The Motet, Lotus, Ghost-Note/Snarky Puppy, The Nth Power, and more comes together for a special tribute show at The Howlin’ Wolf on Thursday, May 5th at 2:00 a.m. (technically early morning 5/6) [get tickets].

Following a wildly-successful performance at the 2018 edition of Brooklyn Comes Alive and a sold-out late-night show during Jazz Fest 2019, this Steely Dan tribute was initially slated to coincide with the 2020 edition of Jazz Fest in New Orleans. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is due to return this spring after rolling through various postponements in 2020 and 2021, and Live For Live Music‘s rescheduled Steely Dan tribute will once again coincide with the start of the event’s second weekend. All tickets purchased for the postponed dates will be honored at the May 5th show.

Led by the talented Joey Porter, the funky keyboardist for The Motet, the band will also feature Tim Palmieri, the powerhouse guitarist who recently signed on with Lotus. They’ll team up with The Nth Power bassist Nate Edgar, Snarky Puppy/Ghost-Note percussionist Nate Werth, and incomparable vocalist Lyle Divinsky (formerly of The Motet).
