On Wednesday night, Steve Miller stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in support of his soon-to-be-released box set, WELCOME TO THE VAULT. Due out this Friday, October 11th, the 3CD + DVD box set highlights Miller’s genre-bending, six-decade career over 52 audio tracks, pairing a number of greatest hits and certifiable rock ‘n roll classics with 38 previously unreleased recordings.

Prior to the musical segment of the show, Jimmy Fallon and Miller had a conversation about everything from how Steve started a band as a 12-year-old to opening for Pink Floyd at England’s Knebworth to how his hit “The Joker” came to be.

For his musical performance, Steve Miller worked through fan-favorite “Fly Like An Eagle” alongside The Tonight Show house band, The Roots. The musicians opened up the special collaboration with a spacey-synth intro before Questlove laid down a snappy backbeat behind his drum kit. Miller sounded strong vocally and on guitar, rockin’ the LED-illuminated stage as the Fallon crowd sang along.
