The String Cheese Incident played their first of three consecutive shows at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on Saturday. Following their headlining performance at DelFest on Friday, veteran jam band brought the musical energy up from Maryland to “The Cap” where they even treated their fans to a pair of bust out covers from The Beatles‘ classic Abbey Road LP.
The band started the first set with one of their newer originals in “Believe”, before going into a three-song segue beginning with “So Far From Home”, continuing into a jam appropriately titled, “Capitol Jam”, and closing out with “Cedar Laurels”. Next came “Gone Crooked” and “BollyMunster”, followed by a two-song segue to close the set with “Piece Of Mine” into “Let’s Go Outside”.

The second half of the show started with “Smile” before the band took the audience into overdrive with a five-song segue beginning with “Desert Dawn”. The music continued right into their two Beatles covers for the night beginning with “Polythene Pam” and going right into “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window”. The performances of the two Abbey Road songs on Saturday were reportedly the first times they’ve played “Polythene Pam” and “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” since 2004 and 2017, respectively. The segue continued as the band returned back to their own catalog with “Rivertrance” before bringing it to an end with the instrumental drum section. The second half of the show continued with “The Big Reveal”, followed by “All We Got”. The band’s two-song encore started with a jam before continuing right into “San Jose” and closing with their return to “Desert Dawn”.
