String Cheese Incident have been bringing the heat on their current Fall Tour, and last night’s performance at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA was no exception. As the band mentioned an “uber bust out” in an Instagram post before the show, it all hit the fan as they broke into the beloved song “SKAT” during the second set.

Later on, keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth confirmed that the song’s name has been changed from “SKAT” to “Xai”, but it is indeed the same song. The last time the song was played was July 10, 2006, and the new version reportedly sounded quite familiar to the old ones. You can listen to the version of “SKAT” that we premiered from Rhythm of the Road Vol. 2, a track performed in Vegas in 2001.
