The String Cheese Incident has shared a pro-shot video of “Hi Ho No Show”, filmed at the band’s November 26th Fansgiving performance at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom. The group recently debuted a studio recording of the years-old setlist staple, recorded at the SCI Sound Lab and released back on November 19th.

This rendition of “Hi Ho No Show” came at the end of a first set that included a sit-in from Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic) and a cover of KC & The Sunshine Band‘s “I’m Your Boogie Man”. After Lalli joined the sextet on “Pik-A-Nik” and “Freedom Jazz Dance”, and following a massive “Black Clouds” > “Dirk” > “I’m Your Boogie Man” > “Dirk” segment, came the refreshing take on “Hi Ho No Show”.

SCI played the instrumental mostly true to its studio recording, opening with a well-tooled outburst of fiddle, acoustic guitar, and drums that fully encapsulated the band’s classic sound. As the song progressed, Kyle Hollingsworth‘s keys began to poke through the mix before dropping into all-out dance territory. Driven by Jason Hann‘s percussive instincts, the six-piece settled into a deep pocket that allowed Hollingsworth and fiddle player Michael Kang to fully explore the depths of their respective instruments. Eventually, the band found itself back in the main riff of the song before ending on a new peak and sending the crowd off into setbreak.
