Question: what do The String Cheese Incident, David Bowie, Elton John, A Taste of Honey, Sly & The Family Stone, Daft Punk, KC & The Sunshine Band, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, fire dancers, giant inflatable dragons and dinosaurs, and the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park all have in common? Answer: They all came together last night to make a packed Suwannee Hulaween crowd bust a move!
When it came time for Cheese’s traditional Saturday theme set, all they wanted was to dance the night away. After a quick announcement that they thought the last year had given us more than enough “monstrous” times, they revealed they had called a musical “audible” and shifted their focus to songs about getting down.
Judging from the audience’s reaction, String Cheese made the right decision. The sold-out crowd packed the Meadow Stage jam field and openly defied the chilly air, casting off any lingering cares and getting their collective groove on.

Of course, if The String Cheese incident is going to do something special, they’re gonna go big. This year, “going big” meant fire dancers, cool costumes, and three-story-tall inflatable dinosaurs and dragons that comically menaced the crowd while fireworks and confetti filled the air.
