Sum 41 and Simple Plan will join forces in 2022 for the Blame Canada Tour which will take the two punk groups across the U.S. from April through August. The tour will see both bands commemorate their debut records, with Sum 41 performing All Killer No Filler in full and Simple Plan performing No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls.
The tour will kick off in Raleigh, NC on April 29th as the two Canadian rock groups work up and down the East Coast. Following a show in Myrtle Beach, SC (4/30), the Blame Canada Tour will head up through The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA (5/2); Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA (5/3); The Fillmore in Silver Springs, MD (5/4); The Palladium in Worcester, MA (5/6); Asbury Park, NJ’s Stone Pony (5/7); and Pier 17 – The Rooftop in New York, NY (5/8).
A lengthy run of the Midwest will take Sum 41 and Simple Plan through Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, and Iowa before the tour heads back east by way of Tennessee. Shows in Atlanta, GA (5/24); Tampa, FL (5/25); and New Orleans, LA (5/27) will send then send the groups to Dallas, TX on May 28th, setting up a two-month break. The second leg of the tour will get started on July 29th in Tulsa, OK, and include a four-night run in California, including San Diego (8/5), Anaheim (8/6), San Francisco (8/9), and Sacramento (8/10). After a jaunt through the Pacific Northwest, the tour will end with a show at The Fillmore in Denver, CO on August 18th.
“We have known the guys in Simple Plan for a very long time and know these shows are going to be great,” says Sum 41 vocalist Deryck Whibley. “We cannot wait to hit the road with them!”
A presale will begin today, February 22nd, at 12 p.m. local using code “FATLIP.” The general on-sale will then begin on Friday, February 25th, at 10 a.m. local.
