Titled, REMIXES, the series will include reworked recordings of the music featured on the band’s 2019 album from artists including DMC World Champion turntablist Chris Karns (Pretty Lights), whose remix of the track “PANGOLIN” will arrive this Friday, August 23rd. Other artists whose remix efforts will be featured in the series include Nobide and Late Night Radio.

A press statement shared on Tuesday reads, “Karns took his intimate knowledge of the song and used the remix as an opportunity to dive deeper into its’ bouncy vibe giving it a more head nodding lilt and peppering it with lighting quick turntable cuts and hip-hop samples.”

The announcement also revealed that each artist will put their own stylish spin on the track of their choice, but did not reveal the timeframe for future releases other than Karns’, who also took part in the album’s original production/tracking sessions.

In addition to band members Kevin Donohue (guitar/production), Josh Fairman (bass/synth bass), and Chris Anderson (drums), Instinct also featured contributions from Nick Gerlach on saxophone (“Pangolin”), Spencer Anderson on violin (“Chrysalis”), Karns on turntables, and Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident) on percussion.

The band will perform at Night Lights Music Festival in Sherman, NY this weekend, followed by a few dates supporting Umphrey’s McGee before their own run of headlining tour dates picks up for the fall months. Head to the band’s website for tickets and tour info.
