An eclectic bunch of music icons gathered at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ over the weekend for Super Bowl Music Festival 2023. The three-day multi-genre festival was highlighted by performances from Bleachers, Paramore, Dave Matthews Band, DJ Pee .Wee (a.k.a. Anderson .Paak), Imagine Dragons, and Kane Brown , plus surprise appearances by Flavor Flav and Dave Grohl.

Super Bowl Music Fest kicked off on Thursday, February 9th with hour-long sets from Bleachers and Paramore. Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker introduced Bleachers to the stage, highlighting the festival’s connection to the NFL and, of course, the Super Bowl. Another highlight came when Paramore pulled a fan up on stage to join the band at the end of the set. The group also officially dropped its new album, This Is Why, at midnight during the performance.

Friday the 10th featured another cross-genre pairing of Dave Matthews Band and DJ Pee .Wee, a.k.a. Anderson .Paak. One of the highlights of the night occurred backstage, where Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was photographed mixing it up with DMB. The former Nirvana drummer caught up with Carter Beauford, Dave, and the rest of the band. He also connected with hip-hop icon Flavor Flav (Public Enemy), who was on hand to bring the hype as a surprise special guest during Anderson .Paak’s DJ set. The house was packed for Dave Matthews Band’s two-hour headlining set.

Super Bowl Music Fest wrapped up on Saturday with a capacity crowd of 18,000 fans. Several NFL players were in attendance, including Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins), Derrick Brooks (Football Hall of Famer), and Austin Johnson (Tennessee Titans). Actor Anthony Hill, Tim McGraw, Ninja (Tyler Blevins), and Dustin Lynch were also spotted in the crowd.

Nightly kicked off the final night of festivities before Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn took the stage to perform “Thank God” live for the first time in the U.S. Imagine Dragons then closed the event with a 90-minute headlining set comprised of the group’s biggest hits.
