Philly funk and soul powerhouse Swift Technique has been a steady player on the Northeast scene over the past decade. With vocalist Chelsea ViaCava leading charge, the band is headed to New York City for their first headlining performance at the Bowery Ballroom on Thursday, November 8th. To spice things up, Dopapod keyboardist Eli Winderman will be joining them, along with support from NYC-based world beat fusion act Drumadics and rock act Denizen (purchase tickets here).

The group recently released the video for their original song “Annawanna,” highlighting their seamlessly blended brand of funk, soul, rock, hip-hop. Swift Technique has been making the rounds on a busy Fall tour, recently coming off a summer full of performances and festival appearances that saw the group share the stage with acts such as Orgone, The Fritz, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle, and more. If you are a viewer of the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, you may have even caught the band performing on the show in the season finale back in 2016.

Straight from the underground of the NYC streets, 5-piece beat-n-brass band Drumadics, led by percussionist William B. Johnson, have performed down in the subways to international clubs, for the New York Knicks, the U.S. Open, SuperBowl 48 and Cirque du Soleil, and have even opened for such artists as Eve, Raphael Saadiq, Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz and Janelle Monáe. The accomplished act plays everything from their own original to unique covers of artists such as Curtis Mayfield to Kanye West. They even were called upon to lay down the beat for the most recent World Baseball Classic in 2017.

With two EPs under their belt and a full-length album scheduled for release in 2019, New York rockers Denizen have paid their dues as an everyday touring American rock band, and are poised to take their road show beyond the East Coast.
