Recently, Australian-based psychedelic outfit Tame Impala announced their new studio album, The Slow Rush, due out on February 14th via Interscope. The forthcoming album marks the first full-length release from the Kevin Parker-led project since 2015’s Currents.
On Friday, Tame Impala announced their first set of 2020 tour dates, which will see the band make stops at San Diego, CA’s Pechanga Arena on March 9th; Los Angeles, CA’s The Forum on March 10th; San Francisco, CA’s Chase Center on March 13th; and Mexico City, MX’s Foro Sol on March 19th. The U.S. dates with see support from singer-songwriter Clairo, while the show in Mexico will include support sets by both Clairo and MGMT.
Tickets for the U.S. dates go on sale next Saturday, November 9th at 12 p.m. (PST) and for the Mexico show on Friday, November 8th at 11 a.m. local time.
Kevin Parker shared his thoughts on the new album with the New York Times earlier this year. He explained,
A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I’m being swept by this notion of time passing. There’s something really intoxicating about it.
