One of NPR’s most popular series is the Tiny Desk Concerts, grouping generally large bands behind a small desk in the NPR Music offices. Every year, the series holds a contest fielding user submissions, and the winning band gets the chance to perform on the actual NPR program, as well as additional publicity opportunities. This year’s contest caught our eye when it was announced that Phish’s own Trey Anastasio was one of the judges involved, and again when NOLA favorites Tank and the Bangas were declared the winner from over 6,000 entries!

The submission video won our hearts, and the official in-office performance made us cry. Tank and the Bangas bring together the worlds of music, poetry, and pure imagination. The band has teamed up with NPR to produce a montage of the life-changing experience, which you can view below:
