TAUK will welcome Kanika Moore (Doom Flamingo) and members of The Horn Section for a pair of special shows at New York’s famed Blue Note on June 20th. The extended ensemble will perform one set at 8 p.m. and another at 10:30.

The Blue Note concerts will see guitarist Matt Jalbert, drummer Isaac Teel, bassist Charlie Dolan, and keyboardist Alric “A.C.” Carter play alongside trumpeter Chris Brouwers and tenor saxophonist Greg Sanderson of plug-and-play brass trio The Horn Section. The announcement of these guest-filled shows come less than a week after the band’s TAUK Paper Scissors set at Mountain Music Festival, which featured members Lawrence, The String Cheese Incident, Trey Anastasio Band, and others in addition to Kanika Moore.

“This is a legendary venue that all of us in the band have seen many unforgettable shows at,” the band wrote on social media. “These sets are sure to be very special performances in an intimate space.”

TAUK originally began as a quintet with the current lineup performing alongside vocalist Alessandro Zanelli, who appeared on the group’s out-of-circulation 2010 album, Brokedown King. Zanelli left the group in 2011, and TAUK has existed as an instrumental quartet ever since—though Teel has been known to show off his pipes during the occasional TAUKing Wonder set and even put out a solo album in 2017, Gentleman’s Day, using his first and middle names, Isaac Sinclair. The drummer has also been known to host intimate gigs as drummer/singer/emcee, like his Jam Room session on Jam Cruise 17.

Tickets to the June 20th TAUK shows at Blue Note NYC with special guests Kanika Moore, Chris Brouwers (The Horn Section), and Greg Sanderson (The Horn Section) are on sale now.
