Instrumental prog fusion quartet TAUK teams up with guitar prodigy-turned-next-gen-shredder Brandon “Taz” Niederaurer on a gooey new single, “Chopped Cheese”, named after the delectable sandwich famously dished out at bodegas in their shared home state on New York.
TAUK and Taz have shared festival stages in the past, but their fiery combination shines even brighter on this new studio collaboration. TAUK’s signature blend of heavy rock riffage, groovy bass lines, and danceable electronic-inspired beats provides the perfect foundation for Niederaurer’s incendiary fretwork, but he’s not alone on the track—TAUK guitarist Matt Jalbert harmonizes with the young ax-slinger throughout. The song reaches its peak as Niederaurer goes off leash, showcasing his expressive and explosive playing in a short but sweet guitar solo.
In a social media post about the new single, bassist Charles Dolan expressed excitement to play the song with Taz live at TAUK’s upcoming Oogie Boogie Nights Halloween show featuring G. Love and Mihali with special guests Kanika Moore and Moon Hooch saxophonist Michael Wilbur at The Capitol Theatre on October 25th [get tickets].
