TAUK has shared a live pro-shot video of “The Let Out”, filmed during the band’s most recent stop at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on October 9th. The performance came as part of TAUK’s Chaos Companion Tour in support of the band’s September 2021 album, Chaos Companion.

The two-set, headlining show saw TAUK weave together several Chaos Companion tracks with covers of Cream, Björk, and Nirvana, along with teases of Led Zeppelin‘s “The Ocean”. This rendition of “The Let Out” came toward the latter half of set one, following a first-time-played “Space Ghost” and right before Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.

Members AlricA.C.” Carter (keys), Isaac Teel (drums), Matt Jalbert (guitar), and Charlie Dolan (bass) stretched this version of “The Let Out” past its album runtime of 4:23. Clocking in at 8:39, TAUK began the slow-building instrumental tune with effects-laden leads from Jalbert atop layers of washed-out keys and a steady rhythm section. As the track progressed, synth lines from Carter poked through the mix and brought in a heavily distorted breakdown section. Here, Jalbert strummed heavy power chords while Teel matched his energy, before dropping in some piercing leads and then falling back to the more ethereal progression. TAUK sat in this pocket for the rest of the song, with each member taking turns breaking free from the pack and flexing their instruments.
