Tedeschi Trucks Band has teamed with Craft For Causes, a non-profit that brings together the craft brew and live music industries, for the Craft For Causes’s first full-scale, national initiative during Tedeschi Trucks Band’s upcoming Wheels of Soul tour with guests The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna. For this new initiative, as Tedeschi Trucks Band hits twenty cities across the country over the summer for their tour, Craft For Causes will be creating a tour of their own coinciding with the Wheels of Soul tour route. The organization will work with forty-one local craft breweries along the route to create special brews whose proceeds benefit Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF), a group that bolsters music education through the donation of musical instruments and other support services to underfunded school music programs.

Tedeschi Trucks Band Details Special Guests For Beacon Theatre Run

A month before Tedeschi Trucks Band hits one of the cities on their tour, select local brewers in that location will feature their limited-edition charity beer in tap rooms that are specifically themed for Tedeschi Trucks upcoming appearance. The proceeds from these efforts will benefit music programs in the specific location of the brewers and performance location, creating a philanthropic bond across the community, band, and brewers. As described by Craft For Causes founder John Nichols,  “We’re excited to announce this during American Craft Beer Week,” said Nichols. “I wanted to create something where everybody wins, and we will leave behind, literally, a trail of musical instruments for children in these cities.”

For this first full-scale initiative from Craft For Causes with Tedeschi Trucks Band, the organization hopes to raise $100,000 for Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. The charity’s special mission is near-and-dear to communities across the country as well as to Tedeschi Trucks Band, who has supported the non-profit in various ways over the years.
