Tedeschi Trucks Band‘s Wheels of Soul tour continued through Cincinnati, Ohio on Sunday night at the PNC Pavilion. As always, tour collaborators The Marcus King Band and Drive-By Truckers opened the evening with sets of their own, and members of both bands continued the collaborative theme of the summer by jumping in on Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and company’s headlining performance.

Nearly halfway through their set, Tedeschi Trucks Band welcomed 21-year-old guitarist Marcus King for a rendition of Charles Segar‘s “Key to the Highway”. From there, Drive-By Truckers’ Jay Gonzalez joined in once again on the recently debuted “High & Mighty”. After playing through a rare version of Little Milton‘s “More & More”, TTB was joined by Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley for their recently-introduced version of Bob Dylan‘s “Going Going Gone”, which they’ve now played together on numerous occasions this tour. The extended set closed with a huge “Storm” that segued into the Allman Brothers Band‘s “Whipping Post”, a combo for the ages. For the encore, Marcus King and members of his band returned to the stage for a cover of Joe Tex‘s “Show Me”, another tune that’s become a go-to during the 2018 running of the Wheels of Soul tour.
