[Update 2/6/25]: Five years after their one-night-only debut, The Brothers have confirmed their return to Madison Square Garden for a two-night celebration of the Allman Brothers Band on Tuesday, April 15th and Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 [ticketing details].
The Brothers—comprised of Allman Brothers Band veterans Jaimoe (drums), Warren Haynes (guitars, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitars), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Marc Quiñones (percussion)—will be joined for the shows by Joe Russo (drums), Reese Wynans (keys), Isaac Eady (drums) and special guest Chuck Leavell (piano).
Per a press release, The Brothers will bring “a whole new show” to Madison Square Garden in 2025: “The band will dive into the acclaimed Allman Brothers Band repertoire delivering hits and rarities from their decades-long career, while also showcasing the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ continued influence and legacy, more than ten years after their official final bow.”
The 2025 return of The Brothers was inspired by last fall’s SOULSHINE hurricane relief benefit, where Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks reconnected on the Garden’s hallowed stage for a fiery take on Allman Brothers Band staple “Whipping Post” (with both Joe Russo and Duane Trucks adding drums to the thundering mix), a moving rendition of Gregg Allman classic “Melissa” (with help from Dave Matthews and Trey Anastasio), and more.
As the press release notes, “After being on stage at [SOULSHINE], the duo realized they needed to play this music again in the world’s most famous arena with their brothers Jaimoe, Oteil and Marc.”
“The chance to play at the Garden with my friends again – FAR OUT man!” shared Jaimoe, the sole surviving original member of the Allman Brothers Band. “I’ll see you in April!!”

[2/5/25]: Five years after The Brothers staged a prodigious reunion of the Allman Brothers Band family at Madison Square Garden, it appears that another gathering of the tribe may be in the works for 2025. This week, an Instagram account @thebrothersmsg appeared and began teasing a trip to New York with Allman Brothers iconography.
The account made its first post on Tuesday, the familiar “I ♥ NY” slogan but with a mushroom in place of the heart. Today, February 5th, another post followed with a peach in place of the heart. The account already has over 1,000 followers, among them Jaimoe, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Joe Russo, former Allman Brothers agent and Mint Talent Group co-founder CJ Strock, and The Brothers 2020 co-manager/producer Stefani Scamardo. There has been no official concert or lineup announcement as of this publication.
The original The Brothers concert brought together Allman Brothers Band co-founder Jaimoe with his former bandmates Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, and Marc Quinones. Beside them, Derek’s younger brother Duane Trucks filled in for his late uncle Butch Trucks on drums. The night of March 11th, 2020 was a full-circle moment for Reese Wynans, who was part of the original 1969 jam session that spawned the ABB, returning to stand in for Gregg Allman on organ.
Throughout the night, keyboardist Chuck Leavell joined the fray to help bring home some of the Allman’s most enduring songs. In addition to the momentous reunion of the storied Southern rock band’s long and winding lineage, The Brothers’ 2020 concert was also historic as it happened the night before the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic, President Donald Trump banned travel from Europe, and the COVID curtain came crashing down. These latest developments come on the precipice of the In Memory of Dickey Betts tribute concert. Set for February 28th in the Allman’s stronghold of Macon, GA, the sold-out tribute to the late ABB co-founder will include Jaimoe, Haynes, Trucks, Burbridge, and Leavell plus Susan Tedeschi, Devon Allman, Duane Betts, Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie), and Lamar Williams Jr. (Trouble No More).
