The Disco Biscuits rolled into Illinois over the weekend for a two-night run of drive-in concerts at McHenry Outdoor Theater. Between the Friday and Saturday shows, The Disco Biscuits premiered pro-shot footage of “Morph Dusseldorf” from night one on 6/25/21.

The two-night run in McHenry was a momentous occasion for the trancefusion pioneers, as bassist Marc Brownstein noted on Twitter that the concerts marked the band’s “last drive in of the pandemic.”

In spite of COVID-19, The Disco Biscuits were still able to mount healthy tours in late 2020 all the way through the 2021 summer solstice. After declaring “set break is over” in late 2019 and mounting their first full-fledged tour in years, the Biscuits kept their commitment into 2020 and 2021 even as the pandemic decimated live concerts and Brownstein dealt with persistent health issues.

Coming in at the tail end of set one, “Morph” has been in regular rotation dating back to its debut in 1996. Regardless of the 327 play count, per Phantasy Tour, The Disco Biscuits are still able to take the Brownstein-led song to exciting new places. With guitarist Jon “Barber” Gutwillig taking something of a backseat on this one, Brownstein and keyboardist Aron Magner were able to dial in to the untz as one and deliver a funked-up take on a Disco Biscuits classic.
